As i've started reading Water for Elephants i have discovered that this story takes place in the nursing home of Jacob Jankowski, the main character.Jacob is 90 and pretty cranky, he also does not seem to make friends very easily. As the nursing home is filled with upbeat, cheery men and women Jacob finds himself miserable. He hates the food, the nurses, and being taken care of 24/7.
The book takes place in our time period but from others and my slight research on the book i know that the time period will change. It dates back to when Jacob was 20ish and in a circus. I find this interesting because you get to go through almost all of his life with him in a way. I'm excited to read this book and discover how Jacob changes into the man in the nursing home from the young adult in the circus.
